1 killed in cariman-motorcycle head-on collision in Pabna

Pabna Correspondent: A rider named Mostafizur Rahman (35) was killed on the spot in a head-on collision between a car driven by a shallow engine and a motorcycle in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna. The accident took place at 9:30 am on Monday (March 11) on the Airport Ishwardi-Baneshwar highway in Paschim Tengri of the city.

The deceased Mostafizur is the son of Shahidul Islam of Nahunpara village of Bajubagha union of Bagha upazila of Rajshahi. He was working as a deliveryman at Apex Pharma Limited in Ishwardi.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station Rafiqul Islam confirmed this information. According to the police and local residents sources, around 8:30 am on Monday morning, the engine-driven Karimon was heading towards Lalpur in Natore at a reckless speed from the railway gate of Ishwardi city.

On reaching the spot, a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction and Kariman collided head-on. The motorcyclist died on the spot. After receiving the information, the police recovered the body from the spot.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station Rafiqul Islam said that Karimon, who was coming from Ishwardi Railgate area at a reckless speed, collided with a motorcycle rider from Bagha in Rajshahi. The rider died at the scene.

He also said that the police have detained the engine-driven Nasimon, but the helper and the driver are absconding. After the body was identified, the relatives were informed. A regular case will be filed in Ishwardi police station in this regard.
