Schoolgirl killed by Karimon in Chatmohar

Pabna Correspondent: A schoolgirl named Rimi Khatun (14) was killed by Karimon in Chatmohar, Pabna. The accident took place at Amritkunda area of ​​Mulgram Union on Chatmohar-Pabna road around 12 noon on Monday (March 11). Chatmohar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Salim Reza confirmed the matter.

Rimi Khatun is the daughter of Zaidul Islam of Amritkunda village. She was an eighth grade student of St. Reertus High School in the upazila. Meanwhile, the students of the school blocked the road after receiving the news of the death of their classmate.

According to local sources, Rimi was returning home with a classmate after finishing coaching at around 12 noon on Monday. On the way, on reaching Amritkunda Madrasa area, a Kariman (shallow engine driven vehicle) loaded with milk cans coming from the opposite direction lost control and overturned, crushing Rimi Khatun, seriously injuring him. When he was taken to the Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared him dead. Meanwhile, Karimon's driver fled immediately after the incident.

Chatmohar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salim Reza said that the police were sent to the spot after receiving information about the death of the schoolgirl in the accident. Legal action will be taken if complaints are received.

Meanwhile, after news of the death of the schoolgirl in the accident spread, the students of St. Ritter's High School protested by blocking the road in front of the school around 2 am. It stops traffic for some time. On receiving the news, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Chatmohar Circle) Habibul Islam came to the spot with policemen. When he promised to take legal action, the students lifted the blockade. Later, traffic returned to normal.
