Ashuganj: Unstable Ramadan market for daily needs faces strict action

Brahmanbaria representative: Brahmanbaria District Commissioner Mohammad Habibur Rahman has warned to take strict measures if the market of daily necessities is destabilized by creating an artificial crisis during Ramadan.

He appealed to the traders not to take more profit to protect the sanctity of the month of Siam. On Monday (March 11), he gave this warning in the speech of the chief guest at an exchange meeting held with local public representatives, journalists and community leaders at the Upazila Parishad auditorium on the initiative of the Ashuganj upazila administration of Brahmanbaria. Such exchange meetings were held on local law and order situation and anti-terrorist-terrorism public awareness, ending child marriage, market price control, implementation of education and health related development projects and increasing the production of agricultural products at the local level. Chairman of Ashuganj Upazila Parishad Md Hanif Munshi, Vice Chairman Salim Parvez, Female Vice Chairman Lima Sultana, Upazila Assistant Commissioner Bhumi Kazi Tahmina Sharmin, Ashuganj Police Station Officer in-charge Nahid Ahmed, President of Ashuganj Press Club were special guests in the exchange meeting under the chairmanship of Ashuganj Upazila Executive Officer Shyamal Chandra Basak. Mohammad Mozammel Haque and President of Ashuganj City Industry and Merchant Association Golam Hossain Epty and others.

Various community leaders including chairman of various union councils of upazila, UP members, heads of various educational institutions, imams and khatibs of mosques were present in the exchange meeting. In the chief guest's speech, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habibur Rahman said that smart citizens are needed to build a smart Bangladesh. So we have to acquire skills. We need to save our youth from drug addiction. Child marriage must be stopped. And for this it is necessary to practice sports and healthy culture.

In the discussion meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized on increasing the production of agricultural products at the local level.
