Awareness workshop on safe use of pesticides in Kaliganj

Gazipur Representative: An awareness workshop was held for farmers, extension workers, input service providers and consumers at upazila/union level on safe use of pesticides in Kaliganj, Gazipur.

On Sunday (March 10), the day-long workshop started in the morning at the upazila agriculture office training hall room organized by the Pesticide Risk Reduction Project of the Department of Agriculture Extension in Bangladesh. Deputy director of Gazipur Directorate of Agriculture spoke at the workshop.

Rafiqul Islam Khan, Additional Deputy Director, Plant Conservation Wing, Integrated Pest Management Department, Khamarbari, Karima Akhtar presented keynote on safe use of pesticides. Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Farzana Taslim also spoke. 20 local farmers, 10 sub-assistant agricultural officers, 5 pesticide dealers, 5 consumers, teachers and media workers participated in it.
