Hanging body found in Faridpur

Faridpur Correspondent: The police of Kotyali police station recovered the hanging body of a rickshaw driver in Faridpur.

The dead body was found with a blue nylon rope tied around the neck of a mango tree from Salmar Vita in West Alipur Mohalla of the city on Friday morning.

It is known that the dead person's name is Labu Sheikh (50). He is the son of late Razzak Sheikh of Madhya Alipur Mohalla. He is the eldest among three brothers and one sister. Labu Sheikh was unmarried and earned his livelihood by driving rickshaws.

Some who saw the dead body hanging from the mango tree said that Labu Sheikh was very tall and his knees were buried in the ground where he was found hanging from the branch of the tree where he was supposed to have committed suicide.

Md Sagar, cousin of the deceased, said it was a murder. Labu was a very religious person. He prayed five times. For the past 12 years, he had saved 10 lakh rupees for Haj by driving a rickshaw. That money was collected with one person and he was reluctant to return the money.

He said it is a murder and they will take legal action in this regard.

Siya Begum, the mother of deceased Labu Sheikh said, "My son's death is mysterious." My son cannot commit suicide. I seek the help of the police to investigate and uncover the root cause.

Confirming the truth of the incident, Faridpur Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Mohammad Salauddin said that the dead body was recovered and sent to Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. It is believed that the exact cause of death will be known after receiving the autopsy report.

He also said that we came to know that Labu Sheikh had some accumulated money and he kept it in the bank by opening DPS. We are investigating the complaint whether the money was given to someone.
