News Desk: President Md. Sahabuddin said, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's historic speech on March 7 is an epic of liberation from the shackles of subjugation for Bengalis. In a message given today (March 6) on the occasion of 'Historic March 7' on Thursday, he said, 'On this day in 1971, the undisputed leader of the Bengali nation, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman gave a thunderous call for independence at the then Race Course Maidan.

The entire Bengali nation was mesmerized on that day by the great political poet Bangabandhu's 'Amar Kavita'. In this epic of only 18 minutes, the great mantra of liberation of the Bengali nation was resounded. Bangabandhu's clear and brilliant speech shook the masnad of the Pakistani dictator. Basically, in the speech of March 7, the oppressed-oppressed Bengali nation found the desired path of liberation from exploitation.

Therefore, the historic speech of March 7 is an epic of liberation from the chains of subjugation for Bengalis. Referring to March 7 as an unforgettable day in the history of freedom struggle and independence of the Bengali nation, the President remembered the great architect of independence, the greatest Bengali father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, with deep respect. He said independence is the best achievement of Bengalis. But it was not achieved in a day. Bangabandhu's immense courage, limitless sacrifices, strong leadership and right direction led the nation to the desired goal on the long friend's path from the great language movement to the final victory of 1971.

Although the Awami League won an absolute majority in the general elections of 1970, the Pakistani ruling group began to struggle to hand over power. Non-cooperation movement started from March 1 under the leadership of Bangabandhu. Following this, on March 7, 1971, Bangabandhu gave a historic speech to millions of people at the Race Course Maidan, ignoring the bloodshot eyes of the Pakistani ruling group. The President said, "Bangabandhu, in that speech shining with unique eloquence and political wisdom, united the emotions, dreams and aspirations of Bengalis in a single thread and declared in a thunderous voice, 'This time's struggle is the struggle for our liberation, this time's struggle is the struggle for freedom.'" On March 26, 1971, Bangabandhu declared the The much-desired freedom of the nation. We achieved independent-sovereign Bangladesh through a long nine-month armed liberation war. He said that Bangabandhu's March 7 speech is one of the most timeless speeches in the world. This speech of Bangabandhu is a unique example of how a speech awakens a whole nation, encourages them to jump into the liberation war for freedom. Bangabandhu's soul had a relationship with the people of Bengal.

Therefore, the words in his speech were mainly in people's minds. This historic speech of Bangabandhu will be an eternal source of inspiration not only for us but also for the freedom-seeking people of the world, said the President.
