Finance Minister sat in a meeting with Anna Buzzard

Economy Desk: Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali sat in a meeting with World Bank Managing Director (Operations) Anna Buzzard. The meeting started at 9:40 am on Sunday (February 25) at the ERD building in Agargaon.

ERD Secretary Md. Shahriar Quader Siddiqui, World Bank Vice President for South Asia Region Martin Riser and senior officials of the organization's Dhaka office are present.

Earlier, the World Bank MD came to Dhaka on Saturday evening on his first official visit. During this visit, Bizzard will meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Finance Minister, senior government officials, civil society and private sector leaders.

He is accompanied by World Bank South Asia Vice President Martin Reiser.

It is known that the World Bank was one of the first development partners to assist Bangladesh after independence. After the country's independence, the World Bank gave more than 41 billion to Bangladesh. Most of these loans are grants or subsidized loans. Bangladesh currently has the largest ongoing program supported by the World Bank Group's International Development Association (IDA).
