International Desk: Gaza's second largest hospital named "Nasser" was closed in the face of heavy fighting, energy crisis and continuous operation by Israeli forces.

Local administration and United Nations health officials said on Sunday that the hospital has completely stopped accepting new patients. Nasser Hospital is located in Khan Yunis, the largest city south of Gaza, Palestine.

Gaza's health care system has collapsed due to indiscriminate attacks by Israeli forces. However, one of the few hospitals that were providing services was this Nasser hospital.

Many Palestinians who were wounded and seriously injured by the attack of the Israeli forces were being treated in this hospital. But the shutdown also put Gaza's health care system under even greater strain.

Health officials said that the service activities in the hospital were stopped from yesterday due to lack of fuel or staff to run the hospital. Ashraf Al-Qidra, spokesman for the Gaza Ministry of Health, said, "Services there have been completely stopped.

There are 25 staff members in just 4 medical teams. The staff are only serving the patients who are inside. Al-Qidra said that the water supply to the hospital was stopped because the generator could not be turned on for three days.

Patients who need to be treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) cannot be served by the remaining staff. Due to lack of electricity supply of oxygen is stopped. At least seven patients died without getting oxygen, he said.
