Import of 10 tons of ginger through Akhaura land port after 7 months

Brahmanbaria representative:  10 tons of ginger was imported from India after 7 months through Akhaura land port. Today, Monday (February 12) at 1 pm, an Indian truck loaded with goods entered the Akhaura land port. Through this, after a month of closure, the import of goods started again. Ginger is imported from India at USD 450 per tonne. The gingers are imported by S.R.S.M. An organization in Gazipur called Trading Private Limited. Customs clearing of the ginger will be done by C&F agent Hasan Enterprises of the land port.

Earlier, on July 10 last year, a business company of Brahmanbaria called Madina Enterprise imported 5 tons of ginger through Akhaura land port. As it is primarily export-oriented, the import of goods through Akhaura land port is very irregular. Hasibul Hasan, the owner of C&F agent Hasan Enterprises, said that traders are preparing to import various products through the port on the occasion of Ramadan. Ginger has been imported as part of this. Today or tomorrow the ginger will be removed from the port. Akhaura land customs station assistant revenue officer said. Kamrul Parvez said, about 1 lakh taka duty will be collected from the imported ginger.
