International Desk: 19 people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Mexico. 22 more people were injured in this incident. The accident happened on Tuesday (January 30) in the north-western part of the country. News from AFP.

A collision between a double-decker bus and a truck in northwestern Mexico on Tuesday killed 19 people and injured 22 others, according to reports. Sinaloa province Attorney General Sara Quinonez said in a video message on social media that 19 bodies had been counted. It will take time to identify the remains.

The AFP report also said the bus that crashed was traveling from the city of Guadalajara in the western province of Jalisco to Los Mochis in Sinaloa. Officials were seen inspecting the wreckage of the passenger bus after the accident.

Sinaloa Civil Protection Director Roy Navarrete said there were about 50 people in the truck and bus that crashed. Both the vehicles collided head on on the road and later caught fire. It should be noted that road accidents and fatalities are quite common in Mexico.

Often these accidents occur due to high speed, poor condition of the vehicle or fatigue of the driver. In addition, accidents involving cargo trucks on the highways of North America have also increased.

Earlier in August last year, 16 people were killed in a terrible road accident in Mexico. 15 of the dead were Mexican nationals. Besides, 36 other passengers were injured in the accident.
