International Desk: Pakistan's general elections are less than three weeks away. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif finally attended his party's election rally and addressed it. He made his first public address in Hafizabad on Thursday regarding the upcoming elections. He said his mission is to "put Pakistan back on its feet". Earlier this week, the PML-N began its much-awaited election campaign under the leadership of Maryam in Okara.
But Pakistan Peoples Party started criticizing Nawaz Sharif for not participating. According to Dawn, the former prime minister, who returned to Pakistan in October last year after spending four years in self-imposed exile, gave a brief speech before Maryam's address at a rally in Hafizabad. Nawaz Sharif reached the venue by helicopter. Reminiscing, he said, when he was ousted in 2018, the people of Pakistan lost their representative. He said, if I had not been removed, not a single person in Hafizabad would have been unemployed.
