News Desk: In the current season, Hajj pilgrims did not respond to the third round of Hajj registration in the government and private management. The third phase of registration ended at 8 pm on Thursday. 53 thousand 115 people have pre-registered in both public and private management. One lakh 27 thousand 198 people from Bangladesh can perform Hajj this year. According to the Hajj agreement with Saudi Arabia, there are 74 thousand 83 vacant seats.

Motiul Islam, Additional Secretary of the Hajj Division of the Ministry of Religion, told  that the Hajj registration time is no longer increasing. The process will be started with those who have registered. We will start dealing with all matters including accommodation in Saudi Arabia for registered Haj pilgrims. However, he said that time is not increasing. This year's Hajj registration started from November 15 last year and the deadline was last December 10. Later, the Hajj registration period was extended till December 31. After that, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has extended the registration period till January 18 in the second phase. But the registration is not getting the desired response. Due to the abnormal increase in the cost of Hajj last year, the registration deadline was extended 8 times due to lack of desired response. Even then, more than 5 thousand quotas were returned in the end. There are still 74 thousand 83 people registered for the remaining quota. Hajj packages are overpriced and beyond the reach of common pilgrims. Due to this, many people think that there is no response in the registration. This time, two packages for Hajj have been decided under the government management.

Among them, the lowest package price is 5 lakh 78 thousand 840 taka. And the price of the special package is 9 lakh 36 thousand 320 taka. On the other hand, the price of two packages in private management is 5 lakh 89 thousand 800 taka and 8 lakh 28 thousand 818 taka respectively. Although the price of the minimum package has been reduced by Tk 1 lakh 4 thousand 160 this year compared to last year, still the current Hajj package price is considered too high by those who are interested in going to Hajj. According to the information of the Ministry of Religion, interested Hajj pilgrims can deposit two lakh five thousand rupees in the beginning and complete the final registration after paying the initial registration and package. However, final registration must be confirmed by depositing the remaining amount of the package by February 29 after initial registration.
