International desk: Houthi rebels have attacked a US-owned cargo ship with ballistic missiles on the southern coast of Yemen. However, no major damage or casualties were reported in the attack on the ship named Gibraltar Eagle.

Since last November, Iran-backed Houthi rebels have been attacking ships affiliated with the United States and Israel. The Palestinian independence organization Hamas launched a sudden attack on Israel on October 7.

Israel then launched a counter-attack on Gaza. US and Israeli-owned ships are being targeted in protest against the ongoing barbaric attacks by Israeli forces in Gaza. Shipping company Eagle Bulk said that the US ship that was attacked was carrying steel cargo. Attempts were also made to attack US targets with a missile in the Red Sea, CENTCOM said.

However, the US warplane shot down the missile and shot it down. Houthi rebels say they are attacking Israel and Israeli-affiliated commercial ships in the Red Sea. They claim that they are carrying out these attacks to show support for the Palestinians and Hamas fighters in Gaza. Earlier, the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah launched an anti-tank missile attack on southern Israel. At least two Israelis were killed in their attack. On Monday, the US-led coalition launched strikes against Yemen's Houthi rebels.

The day before that, the United States and the United Kingdom attacked the country. For the second night in a row, the Western coalition targeted various cities in Yemen. US officials have also acknowledged renewed strikes targeting Houthi rebels in Yemen. However, no detailed information has been given in this regard.
