International Desk: The United States has again attacked Houthi fighters in Yemen. The US military struck a Houthi-controlled radar site early Saturday morning. US officials claimed that Houthi fighters were attacking commercial ships in the Red Sea from that place.

The attack took place at 3:45 am local time on Saturday. In a statement, the US military said the radar site was hit by a Tomahawk missile. This will reduce the ability of the Houthis to attack sea vessels, including commercial ships.

News-BBC Earlier on Thursday night, the United States-UK joint military attack targeted about 30 locations, including the Houthis' command center, munitions depot, and air defense systems. US President Biden has warned that the US will respond if Yemeni rebels continue their "outrageous behaviour" by attacking ships in the Red Sea.

Meanwhile, the Houthis have announced that they will continue to attack ships in the Red Sea. Thousands of people took to the streets in Yemen's capital, Sanaa, hours after the attack began on Thursday. Early Saturday morning, the Houthi TV channel Al-Masirah published news of the operation targeting the country's capital, Sana'a.

Associated Press reporters in Sanaa heard loud explosions, the AP news agency said. A US official said Saturday's attack was carried out from a US Navy ship. The US has targeted a radar site that still poses a threat to maritime traffic. The United States and the United Kingdom launched the first airstrikes in Yemen early Thursday, targeting Houthi rebel positions.

The military of the two countries directly targeted the Houthis in response to recent attacks by Yemen's Houthi rebels on commercial ships in the Red Sea following Israel's invasion of Gaza. There were reports of attacks on the Houthi Red Sea port of Hodeidah in the capital Sana'a, Dhamar and Houthi strongholds in the northwest.

US President Joe Biden said the attack was in response to Iranian-backed Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea since November. He said that the Netherlands, Australia, Canada and Bahrain are providing assistance. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said Royal Air Force warplanes had helped the Houthis launch attacks on military installations. It has been warned by Houthi that the United States and the United Kingdom will have to pay a heavy price for this.
