Tangail PBI arrests 2 accused of Clueless murder

Tangail Correspondent: The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has arrested two people, including Al Amin, the mastermind and mastermind of the murder, in the sensational Sultana Suraiya (65) murder case in Tangail's Bhunapur Upazila. Deceased Sultana Suraiya is the wife of brave freedom fighter and mother of journalist Abu Sayem.

Tangail PBI Superintendent of Police Mohammad Siraj Amin gave this information through a press briefing at his office on Wednesday (September 20). The 2 arrested accused are Mohammad Labu (29) son of Mohammad Shahjahan of Sirajganj Sadar Upazila and Md Al Amin Akand (22) son of Siraj Akand of West Bhuanapur village of Bhuanapur Upazila of Tangail.

Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Mohammad Siraj Amin of Tangail Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), the PBI team led by Inspector General of Police (OC) Md Mustafizur Rahman Ansari, on the basis of information received from various sources, unraveled the mystery of the case and arrested the accused. Tangail PBI Superintendent of Police Mohammad Siraj Amin said through a press briefing - deceased Sultana Suraiya is the wife of brave freedom fighter and retired policeman Abdur Rahim Akande and mother of Abu Sayem, news editor of The Business Standard newspaper.

As the children were busy with their families and work and the deceased Sultana Suraiya did not leave her husband's house, she lived alone at home. Being alone in the house, the grandson of the neighbor's relative, Alamin, used to use his feet. For this, the victim sometimes paid him some money. Al Amin knew where Sultana Suraiya kept her money due to the fact that she used to travel home.

He told the matter to the other accused Labu and the two of them planned to steal the house. According to the advice, they kicked the gate of the house and ran in the dark. Later, when Sultana Suraiya went to the washroom around 12:30 in the night, the accused took the opportunity and entered her room. The victim came back from the washroom and recognized the accused.

At that time, when he tried to scream, the accused committed the murder and fled away. Also present at the press briefing were Tangail Press Club President Zafar Ahmed, Senior Police Inspector Md Ali Noor (PPM), Police Inspector Md Mustafizur Rahman Ansari, Police Inspector Khandkar Ashraful Kabir and various electronic and print media journalists.
