Babar made a world record by topping Viv Richards

Sports desk: Babar Azam scored more than 5000 runs before the 100th innings in ODI. He broke Hashim Amla's record at the top. Babar played his 100th innings in the second ODI of the series against Afghanistan at Hambantota. Babar came into bat after the departure of opener Fakhar Zaman (30) for the team's 52 runs.

Pakistan captain made history on this day. Babar Azam made a world record in ODI cricket overtaking Hashim Amla, Viv Richards. He became the highest run scorer after playing 100 ODI innings. Apart from this, Babar is the only batsman who played a hundred innings, who scored more than five thousand. Babar Azam scored 53 runs from 66 balls that day. Now he has 5142 runs in ODIs. Which is the highest run by any batsman who played 100 innings in this format.

South African batsman Hashim Amla is second in this list. At the end of 100 innings, his collection was 4946 runs. West Indies legend Viv Richards is in the three. He scored 4607 runs in 100 ODI innings. India's Virat Kohli is far behind. His score was 4230 after playing 100 ODI innings. Babar Azam scored 18 centuries and 27 half-centuries to score more than five thousand runs in 100 ODI innings.
