Sports Desk: T20 World Cup is starting in June. This time, the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup will be held on the ground of USA-West Indies. Australia announced the T20 World Cup squad as the sixth team after New Zealand, South Africa, England, India.

Australia enter the field as favorites in any ICC event. This time is no exception. The team that won the 2023 ODI World Cup is desperate to maintain its dominance in T20 this time as well. For that purpose, the Aussies have announced the World Cup team taking form into consideration.

However, their star batsman Steven Smith has grown from this World Cup team. Although his omission is almost expected. Because he is not getting that opportunity in the T20 team for a long time. The former captain could not prove himself even though he was given a chance in the team for the last New Zealand series. Smith is going to miss the World Cup for the first time in an era.

Although most of the cricketers in this team were in the last ODI World Cup squad. Cricket Australia is keeping Mitchell Marsh as captain despite injury concerns. Also, opening batsmen like David Warner, Travis Head, Marcus Stoinis are the big strength of the team.

Aussies are strong in bowling attack as well as batting. There are star pacers like Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins. As spinners, there are experienced players like Glenn Maxwell, Adam Zampa and Aston Aggers.

Australia's chief selector George Bailey said, 'A few players, who did not get a chance in the initial team, will be watched. Remember, if we want to make changes in the team, we have the opportunity to do so by following the ICC rules.'
