Human chain in the heart of Faridpur demanding the construction of a permanent bridge

Faridpur Correspondent:  The locals have formed a human chain to demand the permanent construction of the Bailey Bridge over the Kumar River adjacent to Haji Shariatullah Bazar, the heart of Faridpur city. This human chain program was celebrated on the road adjacent to the bridge on Wednesday afternoon. A large number of local people participated in the human chain with banners and placards. 

The speakers in the human chain said that the people of Faridpur demand that this bridge should be made permanent by removing the Bailey Bridge to facilitate the communication. Because if it is permanent it will benefit the people. Millions of people walk on the bridge every day. It will facilitate their movement.

They also said that the Bailey Bridge is basically a temporary bridge. Our question to the authorities is why it has not been widened and matured in the last 40 years?

Speakers also said that if this bridge is widened and made suitable for traffic. Then the people of Faridpur will get a lot of benefits, it is claimed in the human chain.

It should be noted that in the eighties, traffic was stopped when the bridge was damaged due to flood and river erosion. Later a Bailey Bridge was built there. The bridge was not rebuilt after that.
