Pabna representative: A school has been built with the combination of wood work of carpenters, use of iron with modern technology, high quality bricks, clay, bamboo. Where a mud house has been built and a library has been set up. Not only the construction style, there children are learning through laughter, joy, dance, song and play.

The school is named Baral Vidya Niketan as it is on the banks of Baral river. A school for educating children in an eco-friendly and rural environment has been opened in Kumargara village of Chatmohar Upazila, Pabna. The exceptional construction style and innovation of teaching has already caught everyone's attention.

On the ground floor of the two-storied school, various educational paintings are hung on bamboo rafters in the open balcony. The young children are happily reading while sitting there. A library has been set up in a mud room next to it. So that children can go there and read books as they wish. There is a separate classroom on the second floor for computer learning.

A mid-day meal is open for students in the tree-shaded school. Where children are learning health awareness and discipline. Wash your hands with soap and take food by yourself. After eating together, they throw the garbage in the bamboo basket. The classroom has no windows, but there is light. So that children can easily see trees, birds, rain, nature. Can see and touch the rain.

In the natural environment, with the smell of the earth, in environmental awareness, with laughter and joy, young children are learning. The school authorities have arranged teaching in such an exceptional manner so that they do not get bored. An attempt has been made to build the school on the model of Shanti Niketan. There is cultural practice one day a week. In this, children are developing as people with human values and culture.

The Navyatra of Baral Vidya Niketan established in 2019 in Kumargara village of Chatmohar upazila was inaugurated on Saturday (March 02). The school was inaugurated by the lighting of the mangal lamp by the managing director of Dhaka's architect firm 'Vitti', architect Istiaq Zahir. Architect Iqbal Habib spoke as the chief guest.

Former mayor of Chatmohar municipality Mirza Rezaul Karim Dulal, upazila secondary education officer Maghreb Ali, director of Baral Vidya Niketan SM Mizanur Rahman gave greetings at the opening ceremony moderated by artist Milan Rob. There was a parade of children and students and an interesting display. Parents, dignitaries and media persons were present.

About the plan of the school, architect Iqbal Habib said, 'The school is exceptional out of the traditional but eco-friendly and natural open environment. Where there are no windows, but there is light. It is raining, but the students of the class are not facing any problem. They can touch the rain with their hands. It is a novel initiative of openness against closedness. Bengali soil, Bengali yard, nature, environment, we tried to capture that look.'

Iqbal Habib also said, 'I tried to make the school in a peaceful manner by integrating the trees in front of the school premises. Where children will consider the sky and the nature on both sides as its bond. Along with everything, children will have the opportunity to learn technology-dependent computers and robotics. They will learn to play, to sing, to draw, to fly like a kite with their hands spread out on both sides, they will grow up and move the country forward.'

Architect Istiaq Zahir, managing director of the foundation, said, "If we want to learn Bangladesh by discarding western ideas, we have to start from seed. In such a place, the modern education system around the environment, but retaining the Bengaliana, is undoubtedly admirable. Future modern and smart Bangladesh should be found from here. Many would not expect such a school in a remote area in Chalonbil. But now it's happening. I think this school is a milestone for Bangladesh.'

Painter Milan Rob said, 'A completely different Bengali culture can be developed by going outside the so-called education system and it is in a natural and environment-friendly way. Their idea is commendable. We are thinking about painting or art ideas for kids. It is thinking about environment and education with light. I am thinking about the work of building the country. In that sense, Baral Vidya Niketan is a symbol for Bangladesh.

Alamgir Kabir, general secretary of Bangladesh Environment Movement (Bapa), said, 'We know that education is the backbone of the nation. If that spine is not strong, not good, then nothing good can be expected from it. We think that the thought of architect Iqbal Habib, Bangladesh is a field of humanitarian craftsmanship.

Founder Director of Baral Vidya Niketan SM Mizanur Rahman said, 'Establishing the school to create environment-friendly and humane people. We couldn't afford it then. Later architect Iqbal Habib extended his hand to us. He himself designed and financed this exceptional school building. The dream we had with his help has been realized today.'
