New Weather Advisory Issued by the Meteorological Office Regarding Rain

News Desk: The well-marked low-pressure system, which was previously situated over Jharkhand and its surrounding regions, has now moved to Bihar and adjacent areas. The monsoon is currently moderately active over Bangladesh and fairly strong over the northern Bay of Bengal. As a result, several parts of the country may experience temporary gusty winds accompanied by light to moderate rain or thunderstorms.

In the 120-hour weather forecast issued on Wednesday morning (July 16), the Met Office stated that due to the influence of the low-pressure system now located over Bihar and nearby regions, many areas in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions are likely to witness light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with temporary gusty winds. Some places in the Dhaka, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may also see similar weather conditions. Additionally, moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated locations in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, and Sylhet divisions.

Day and night temperatures across the country may rise by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius.

The 24-hour forecast beginning Thursday morning (July 17) further indicates that many areas in the Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, as well as several places in the Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions, may experience temporary gusty winds with light to moderate showers or thunderstorms. Moderate to heavy rainfall is also likely in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may see a slight increase.

The extended 5-day forecast suggests a gradual increase in rainfall activity across the country.
