Weather Office Issues New Forecast on Heavy Rain and Storm

The Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall over two divisions of the country and warned of storms over 15 districts.

In separate weather bulletins on Tuesday (15 July), it was stated that due to the active southwest monsoon winds, from 9 AM Tuesday and over the next 24 hours, there may be heavy to very heavy rainfall at places in Rajshahi and Khulna divisions.

Another forecast from the department says that by 6 PM, regions including Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Dhaka, Faridpur, Kushtia, Jessore, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Comilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, and Sylhet will experience rain or thunderstorms accompanied by temporary gusty or stormy winds blowing at 45 to 60 kilometers per hour from the south or southeast direction.

All river ports in these areas have been advised to display Warning Signal No. 1.
