Iran Gearing Up Again, This Time with a New Strategy

International Desk: After 12 days of intense conflict, a ceasefire is currently in place between Iran and Israel. The recent fighting has been one of the most devastating in recent times. In this short but brutal war, over 900 Iranians were killed due to Israel’s relentless attacks. Among the casualties were the head of Iran's armed forces, at least 24 senior commanders, and 14 nuclear scientists.

Moreover, Israel reportedly targeted Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian, aiming to break the country’s backbone. At least six bombs were launched in an attempt to assassinate President Pezeshkian. In this reality, Tehran finds it impossible to trust the aggressors and is now in discussion with leaders from various countries.

Iran’s Defence Minister, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, has declared that Tehran has little faith in the current ceasefire. "We are preparing multiple defence strategies considering the possibility of renewed aggression," he said.

In a conversation on Monday with Turkey’s Defence Minister Yasar Güler, the Iranian deputy minister stated, “The Islamic Republic does not wish to spread war and instability across the region. But if anyone chooses aggression, Iran is ready to deliver a firm and final response. We cannot rely on the ceasefire, and thus we have pre-prepared plans for every possible form of aggression.”

In response, Turkish Defence Minister Güler expressed satisfaction with the ceasefire and emphasised that the nuclear talks should conclude with a logical agreement that benefits both Iran and the region.

On the same day, General Nasirzadeh also held a phone conversation with Malaysia’s Defence Minister, Mohammad Khaled Nordin. He thanked the Malaysian government for taking a firm stance against what he called the “unjust war” on Iran and the aggression by the United States and Israel.

Malaysia’s Defence Minister said, “Iran is a friendly and trustworthy country to us. From the beginning, we have held Israel responsible for this war and condemned it clearly.” He added, “We believe Israel will not achieve any of its objectives in the Middle East. Iran has proven that Israel’s threats are nothing more than fiction.”

Meanwhile, Iran’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, issued a stern warning: “Any misstep or hostile action against Iran will be met with a powerful and decisive response. As long as our brave soldiers stand guard, no one can compromise Iran’s security.”

He added that the armed forces are working tirelessly on uninterrupted weapons production and readiness to ensure immediate defense in the face of any attack.

Military official Majid Mousavi stated, “Our troops are always ready, fingers on the trigger. Any provocation, miscalculation, or attempt at aggression by the enemy will be answered instantly.”
