The Tista Master Plan Will Be Finalized by the End of This Year: Rizwana Hasan

News Desk: The Advisor to the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change under the interim government, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, stated, “The Teesta Master Plan will be finalised by the end of this year. Field-level work has already been completed.”

She made this statement in response to journalists' questions upon her arrival at Saidpur Airport on Tuesday morning (15 July).

The advisor further said, “The Teesta Master Plan is essentially a matter between China and Bangladesh. Therefore, the decision requires mutual consent from both countries. In the past few months, we’ve made significant progress toward the implementation of the plan.”

She added, “On 17 July, discussions with experts will finalise five key issues. After that, the proposal will be sent to the government first, then finalised through the ERD (Economic Relations Division), and forwarded to the Chinese authorities. Once they submit a detailed report, implementation will begin.”

After speaking with journalists, Advisor Rizwana Hasan departed by road for Kurigram.

Present at the airport were Nilphamari District Commissioner Md. Nayeruzzaman, Upazila Executive Officer Nur-e-Alam Siddiqui, and various officials from the respective ministries.
