News Desk: Recent media reports claiming a surge in crime across the country this year have sparked fear and a sense of insecurity among the public. However, an analysis of official crime statistics from September 2024 to June 2025 reveals that these concerns are not entirely grounded in data. In fact, the overall trend of major crimes has remained relatively stable over the past ten months.

A post made on the Chief Advisor’s official Facebook page on Monday afternoon (July 14) also emphasized that the situation remains under control, with serious crimes being effectively managed by law enforcement agencies.

According to government data, the most severe and violent crimes—such as murder, rape, armed robbery, and muggings—have shown no significant increase. In some instances, these crimes have even declined. While certain categories have seen a slight uptick, the overall picture does not reflect a widespread crime wave.

The post further stated that while public vigilance is indeed essential, it is equally important to stay informed and not succumb to panic or fear. Analysis from police records indicates that law enforcement continues to maintain control over the situation, with most crime rates holding steady.

In support of this assessment, the police headquarters has released two detailed tables—one showing crime trends over the past five years, and another covering the last ten months. All figures are based on the police department’s internal records.
