Three Boards Suspend Thursday’s HSC Exams Due to Flooding

News Desk: Due to the ongoing flood situation across the country, the HSC and equivalent exams scheduled for Thursday (July 10) under the Cumilla, Madrasah, and Technical Education Boards have been postponed. The information was confirmed through separate notices issued by the respective education boards around 10:30 PM on Wednesday (July 9).

According to a notification by the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, heavy rainfall and upstream water flow have submerged 30 villages across two upazilas in Feni district. In light of this situation, Thursday’s HSC exam under the Cumilla Education Board has been suspended.

However, the HSC exams scheduled on the same day under the remaining eight general education boards will be held as per the original schedule. A new date for the postponed exam will be announced later through a separate notification.

In another statement, the Madrasah Education Board announced that, due to unavoidable circumstances, the Alim English 2nd Paper exam on July 10 has been postponed.

Similarly, the Technical Education Board stated that all exams scheduled for July 10 under their board have been suspended due to unavoidable circumstances.

This year’s HSC and equivalent exams began on June 26, and the theoretical exams will continue until August 10, followed by practical exams from August 11 to August 21.

A total of 12,51,111 students have filled out forms to appear in the HSC and equivalent exams under the nine general boards, the Madrasah Board, and the Technical Board. This year, 81,882 fewer students registered for the exams compared to last year.

The 2025 HSC and equivalent exams are being conducted based on the revised syllabus from 2023. According to the boards, all exams will be held in full-mark and full-duration formats.
