Bride rescued 23 days after abduction in Domar, arrested 2

Nilphamari Correspondent: Police rescued the abducted bride 23 days after her abduction in Domar of Nilphamari with the help of locals. Two people were arrested on charges of involvement in the abduction. The bride's father Hamidul Islam on Monday filed a case with the Domar Police Station under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act.

According to the case, Shahnaz Akter, daughter of Hamidul Islam, got married to Sona Mia, son of Nur Mohammad Dhulu Mia of Shukanganj Balapara village in Dimla Upazila in Ghatpara area of ​​Boragari union. Sona Mia came to visit her mother-in-law's house on February 1 with the newlyweds. Emon and one of his accomplices abducted Shahnaz Akhter from the local Chamarpara junction on February 6.

On Sunday night, February 26, the locals arrested Emon Islam and the bride in the Boragari Bazar area and arrested them and informed the police. Later the police came and rescued Shahnaz Akhter and arrested Emon. Emon's confession led to the arrest of his accomplice Sujan Roy in a raid on Sunday night. Officer-in-charge of Domar Police Station Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the matter and said they were sent to the district jail through the court on Monday afternoon.
