Police Memorial Day was observed in Faridpur

Faridpur Correspondent: Police Memorial Day has been observed in Faridpur. A memorial day was observed at the Faridpur police line at 11 am today. The ceremony was held through prayers and discussion meetings in memory of the policemen killed in the line of duty.

Additional Superintendent of Police Jamal Pasha, Sirajul Islam, Anisuzzaman, Sunil Karmakar, Subrata Goldar Aslam Islam, Shiuli Begum, and others spoke in the presidency of Superintendent of Police Alimuzzaman BPM.

Sabiha Akhter Tia, wife of slain constable Azad Miah, Abdus Salam, father of slain SI Monir Hossain also spoke on the occasion. Speakers at the meeting discussed the condition of their families after the deaths of police members. They said the event was organized to find out the condition of the family if the sole breadwinner of the family dies.

In his address, Superintendent of Police Alimuzzaman BPM assured their full cooperation. Assistance was provided to 31 families in the program. Of these, seven families were assisted by IGP, and the remaining 24 families were assisted by Faridpur District Police. The program was conducted by R&O Anwar Hossain of Faridpur Police.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Mufti Shaheen prayed for the peace of soul of the slain policemen. Note that since 2016, Police Memorial Day is celebrated all over the country on March 1 every year.
