Bangladesh has set an example in the world in dealing with corona: Social Welfare Minister

News Desk: Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed has said that the development activities of the country have not stopped even though the Corona epidemic. The country continues to move forward under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Bangladesh has set an example in the world in tackling this epidemic. He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting on the occasion of the 75th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Diabetic Association and Diabetic Awareness Day at Bardem General Hospital auditorium in the capital on Sunday (February 26).

President of Bangladesh Diabetic Association Prof. AK Azad Khan presided over the function and Secretary-General of Bangladesh Diabetic Association Mohammad Saif Uddin was present among others. The minister said, the legend of the medical world.

Mohammad Ibrahim opened a new horizon in the treatment of diabetes in Bangladesh through the establishment of Bardem. The Minister called upon all concerned to extend the activities of the Bangladesh Diabetic Association to every Upazila of Bangladesh. Mentioning the unprecedented success of the present government in various fields, the Minister said the present government under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina has also made revolutionary development in the medical sector.

Healthcare has been delivered to every doorstep of the country. At a time when the world is struggling to cope with the Corona epidemic, our health sector has dealt with Corona very successfully.

The minister said full-fledged diabetes hospitals are being set up in different districts of the country with the funding of the Ministry of Social Welfare to ensure the treatment of diabetic patients. Referring to diabetes as a silent killer, the minister said there is no alternative to awareness to survive the disease. He called for speeding up the ongoing activities to create widespread awareness.
