Thakurgaon Correspondent: Police have seized 246 bottles of Phensidyl from a sack full of potatoes in Thakurgaon.
A drug dealer named Mamun was arrested at that time. He was arrested along with phencidyl in a raid in the city's bus stand area around 10:30 pm on Wednesday (February 18). The arrested Mamun is the son of Khasirul Alam of Uttar Baliadangi area of Baliadangi upazila.
According to the police, the seized phencidils were being taken from Panchagarh to Dhaka in a vehicle of Hanif Enterprise. A team of police stopped the car on the basis of secret information. A search revealed 246 bottles of Phensidyl in a potato sack in the back locker of the vehicle.
The owner of the bag was later arrested. Thakurgaon Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tanvirul Islam said the arrested Mamun initially admitted his involvement. It is being investigated whether anyone else is involved with this. The case is pending.
