News Desk: BNP leaders and activists have been accused of obstructing a pre-announced protest rally in protest of late President Ziaur Rahman's attempt to revoke the 'Bir Uttam' title.

On Wednesday (February 18) morning, leaders and activists of the BNP, its affiliates and allied organizations from different wards of the Dhaka Metropolitan North and South began to gather in the press club with banners in pieces. Since the beginning of the rally, the police have imposed strict restrictions on the leaders and activists to enter the front of the press club. Police are allowing him to come to the rally after confirming his identity.

Earlier, many leaders and activists complained that the police repulsed them when they tried to enter the rally in processions from different parts of the city.

Leaders and activists said, even though we live in an independent country, today we are dependent. We are going to join the rally peacefully but the police are not letting us go, they are obstructing us.

It can be seen on the spot that the police is not allowing anyone to enter the meeting place at the head of Link Road of the Secretariat. Besides, additional police have been deployed near Kadam Foyer and no one is being allowed to enter there.
