News Desk: Fisheries and Livestock Minister Sham Rezaul Karim has said that it is not ethical to take government facilities without standing by the people as a people's representative.

He made the remarks while participating in a discussion on the report of CPD, a private research institute, on Sunday (January 31) on the damage caused by the epidemic Corona and natural disasters in Pirojpur district and effective measures to deal with it.

At the same time, praising the participation of local administration and political parties in tackling Corona and Amphan, he said it has become easier to tackle the two disasters simultaneously with the right decision of the government and cooperation at the local level. Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner Abu Ali took part in the virtual event. Sajjad Hossain said 12 lakh residents of Pirojpur were affected by corona and about 1,200 people died.

The government as well as all the leaders and workers at the local level and the people have worked together to control the spread of the virus. The deputy commissioner said that the district administration has stood by the people who are in trouble at all levels of the district with food aid and arrangements have been made to feed the animals including dogs so that the animals do not become violent.

Which has played a big role in keeping the overall situation normal. Shahjahan Gazi, executive director of the private development agency Dak Dai Jai, said that the agricultural incentives given to the victims of Amphan in Pirojpur and the incentives of Tk 2,500 during the coronation period have helped the district to overcome its losses.

The local public representatives who joined from Pirojpur at that time said that the incentive of two and a half thousand rupees given during the Corona period was not enough, even the agricultural initiatives were not enough. The new poor are in more danger. Because their income reduction information is often not available at the right time. Again, as Pirojpur is not an industrial area, the affected people are still struggling to find employment.
