Mohammad Ali Rashed, Chittagong: Chief Election Agent of Awami League nominated mayoral candidate Ibrahim Hossain Chowdhury Babul has alleged that BNP is trying to question the Chittagong City Corporation (CHC) election. He made the allegation at a press conference on behalf of Awami League mayoral candidate Rezaul Karim around 1pm on Wednesday (January 28).

Ibrahim Hossain Chowdhury Babul said, I have been to different centers since morning. Talked to voters. Voters are coming to the center with enthusiasm to vote. Feeling happy voting. BNP activists have attacked Awami League leaders and activists at various centers. We are getting information from different centers. Even after so many conspiracies of BNP, we are still in the polls.

We believe in elections in a democratic process. He said BNP activists had beaten Tanvir Faisal Ivan, son of Mahanagar Awami League publicity secretary Shafiqul Islam Farooq, at the Police Lines School Center. In Chandgaon, BNP workers beat Awami League agents. The BNP runs propaganda in every election. They will not come to the polls, but the conspiracy continues.

He claimed that some isolated incidents had taken place in some polling stations. The election is going smoothly without some isolated incidents. Hopefully it will continue till four in the afternoon.
