The people of Chittagong will vote for whomever they want: Quader

News Desk: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said the government will not interfere in the Chittagong City Corporation elections (CHC). He said the people of Chittagong will vote for whomever they want. The government will extend full cooperation to the commission in playing an independent and authoritative role in holding free and fair elections.

He made the remarks at a regular briefing at his official residence on Monday (January 25th). Obaidul Quader said the Sheikh Hasina government is working tirelessly to establish a hunger and poverty free Bangladesh. Bangabandhu's family is a unique example of honesty in the politics of this country. Everyone should learn from this family, honesty and noble sacrifice. He also called upon the leaders and workers of Awami League and allied organizations to be dedicated to the service of the people without showing their power.

The general secretary of the Awami League said power is not permanent. Life must be arranged as a political activist in the glory of renunciation by avoiding the lust for enjoyment. In the development of the country, the endless struggle to build a prosperous Bangladesh under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina must continue. In order to establish a non-communal state, Bangabandhu's dream of realizing and fighting against the enemies of democracy as well as purifying themselves must be taken forward.

The politics of the future will be pure, the spirit of the liberation war and scientific. He added that those who want to push the country back, their misdeeds and conspiracies must be dealt with politically. And everyone must be united for that goal. In response to the allegation that the government is obstructing the peaceful movement of the BNP, Obaidul Quader said that the words of the peaceful movement in the mouth of the BNP are like the voice of a ghost. Spreading violence in the name of movement, burning people's property in the name of procession cannot be a peaceful movement.

He said that the people of this country do not believe that those who carry out politics of killing, sponsoring terrorism and corruption will carry out peaceful movement. Seeing the BNP's program, not the government, but the people are terrified. He also claimed that BNP is the father of politics of revenge.
