Since then, they have been trying for the last 12 years to bring down the government. 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina helped in the construction of the Padma Bridge. There were not only domestic conspiracies but also international conspiracies over that bridge. He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance at Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall in the capital on Sunday to protest the demolition of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's sculpture. The information minister said the conspiracy has started anew today. There have been sculptures in this land for hundreds of years. Our country has sculptures since the Mughal period. After independence, sculptures of many masterpieces have been made in many parts of the country. Many political leaders have already installed sculptures in different parts of the country.

There was no talk then. Suddenly there is talk of building a sculpture of Bangabandhu. This is a deep conspiracy against the government. Hassan Mahmoud said there is a museum of sculpture in Saudi Arabia. There are also sculptures of animals on the streets. There are even sculptures of the face of the Saudi king. Neither the Imam nor the Grand Muftis of Mecca and Medina have ever questioned this. Are our religious businessmen wiser than the Imams of Mecca and Medina? In fact, they are all religious businessmen. We have to be careful about them. He said this country belongs to Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists and Christians. This country has been created in exchange for the combined blood flow of all. So spreading religious poison here is a violation of the constitution.

This is tantamount to taking a stand against the state. The Minister also announced the unveiling of the wrapper and the inauguration of the Artist Award. Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance President Natyajan Falguni Hamid presided over the function.
