Vandalism of Bangabandhu's sculpture: Juba League-Chhatra League has announced a nationwide rally today

News Desk: Bangladesh Awami Juba League and Bangladesh Chhatra League have announced a protest rally in Kushtia to protest against the vandalism of the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The protest rallies and sit-ins will be held across the country on Sunday. Earlier, the announcement was made in two separate notifications signed by the central president, general secretary and office secretary of Bangladesh Awami Juba League on Saturday evening.

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has organized a protest procession and rally in Kushtia on December 8 (Sunday) at 11:30 am to protest against the desecration of the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and to demand exemplary punishment by arresting those involved.

 Starting from Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University, the demonstration and assembly will be held at the foot of Raju sculpture adjacent to TSC. At the same time, all the units of Bangladesh Chhatra League (district, metropolis, upazila, police station, municipality) have been instructed to hold demonstrations, processions and rallies in accordance with the proper health rules.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Awami Juba League said in a statement that in every district, metropolis, upazila, thana, municipality (every ward under the metropolis) across the country, all day on the highway and at 3 in the afternoon, simultaneous demonstrations, processions and rallies, Juba League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and General Secretary Md. Moinul Hossain Khan Nikhil.

It may be mentioned that the miscreants smashed the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman under construction at the intersection of five streets of Kushtia city in the dark of night. The face and hand parts of the sculpture, which was under construction, were vandalized at some point last Friday night.
