This time the state-of-the-art dash 8-400 'DRUTO TARA' are being added to the fleet.

News Desk: The first of three aircraft purchased on GTZ basis between the governments of Bangladesh and Canada is going to join the fleet of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on November 24. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has named this aircraft 'Dhrubatara'.

With the addition of three Dash 8-400 aircraft to the fleet, the aircraft will be able to operate more flights on its domestic and short-haul international routes.

According to a press release issued by Biman, the state-of-the-art new Dash 6-400 aircraft built by Canadian company De Havilland will have 74 seats. Hepa filter technology will free the air inside the aircraft from bacteria, viruses and other germs in just four minutes. The aircraft will also have a large space between the two seats, LED lighting and wide windows to make travel comfortable and enjoyable.

The number of aircraft in the fleet will be 19 including the new aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Of these, 14 are own and five are leased. Out of its own 14, Boeing 7-300 ER four, Boeing 7-8 four, Boeing 8-9 two, Boeing 737 two and Dash-6 two.
