News Desk: No vehicle will be allowed on the road without registration. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Moha has given strict instructions in this regard. Shafiqul Islam. He also instructed to dump unregistered vehicles as soon as they are driven.

He gave the instructions to the concerned deputy police commissioners of the DMP's traffic department at an exchange meeting with transport owners at the DMP headquarters on Thursday (November 19) afternoon.

The meeting was attended by senior officials of DMP and leaders of various transport owners' associations.

The DMP chief said that arrests should be made if there is extortion in the streets. No toll can be collected on the road. However, service charges may be levied to meet the operating expenses of the employers 'and workers' organizations. He also said that drivers should be made aware of the need to abide by the law.

At the meeting, the leaders of the owners' association appealed to the police commissioner to look into the matter, citing the limitations and complexities of the BRTA in issuing driving licenses to drivers.

At that time, the officials of the traffic department of the police sought the cooperation of the owners in maintaining traffic order in the Dhaka metropolis.
