Bangladesh national footballer Manjurul Rahman Manik tests positive for Covid-19

CNI Desk: Bangladesh national football team player Manjurul Rahman Manik, who was scheduled to fly for Qatar today to play World Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers, tested positive for coronavirus.

The defender tested positive in the routine test carried out on all the players and staff of Bangladesh team at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU) lab on Wednesday.

Bangladesh Football Federation confirmed the matter on Wednesday night.

 

Another test will be carried out on him after three days, and if the result come back positive again then Bangladesh coach Jamie Day will declares his replacement, BFF sources said.

Bangladesh will play their World Cup and Asian Cup qualifier match on December 4 against Qatar.
