Pakistan's tour: Bangladesh waiting for ICC’s green signal

CNI Desk: Bangladesh are looking forward to the International Cricket Council regarding the postponed tour of Pakistan comprising one Test and as many ODI’s, said a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official on Wednesday.

Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday announced a tentative FTP commitment till 2022 and according to that, there is no Bangladesh tour to Pakistan though according to the FTP, Pakistan is expected to visit Bangladesh in November 2021 to play two Tests and three T20Is.

BCB and PCB have decided to postpone the Test and ODI in Karachi due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Bangladesh were due to reach Karachi on 29 March, and the ODI was to be played on 1 April, while the Test was set to begin on 5 April. However, the games were postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, was categorised as a pandemic by the World Health Organization.

“Basically all the postponed Test fate depends on the ICC. If they increase the time of ICC Test Championship then it is one thing and if that is not the case than lot of matches might not happen. In that case, how the points will be divided also depends on the ICC,” he said.

The first leg of Bangladesh’s tour was played in Lahore and Rawalpindi, starting late January. The visitors lost both completed T20Is and Pakistan dominated the lone Test to win by an innings and 44 runs.
