One of the accused in the Habib murder case was arrested from Sylhet at Chatmohar in Pabna

Chatmohar (Pabna) Correspondent: The CID has arrested one accused in the murder case of Habibur Rahman Habib, a sensational BCL leader from Handial in Chatmohar upazila of Pabna. A team led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Waliul Islam of CID Pabna office and Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam arrested Hamjalal, the 10th accused in the case from Sylhet city area late last night.

The arrested Hamzalal is the son of Saddam Hussein of Khan Pukur area of ​​Handial Union. Assistant Superintendent of Police Waliul Islam of CID Pabna office confirmed the information. The arrested accused was sent to jail after interrogation with a 7-day remand application. He added that the process of arresting the other accused in the case was ongoing. It may be mentioned that after the evening of June 14, Habib was stabbed by some terrorists and died on the spot. When tension spread in the area, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Chatmohar Circle) Sajeeb Shahreen visited the spot and brought the situation under control.

Additional police were then deployed there. Meanwhile, Habib's father said. Abdur Razzak became a plaintiff and filed a murder case with Chatmohar police station accusing 11 named and 18/20 unidentified persons. But when the case became complicated, it was handed over to the CID Pabna district office. Family members of the slain Habib were intimidated at various times to withdraw the case. In protest of this, on 16 June the common people of the area, men and women and heroic freedom fighters came together and formed a human chain.

Even then the accused remained out of reach. So the victim's family was helpless and held a press conference at their house demanding the arrest of the identified terrorists in the area. The human chain demanded exemplary punishment of the terrorists subject to proper investigation of the incident.
