Suresh Raina's uncle was killed in the attack

Sports Desk: The time is not right for Suresh Raina. The left-arm top-order batsman has removed his name from the IPL for personal reasons. He left the UAE for his home country of India on Saturday and received the news of his uncle's death that night.

Although the incident happened about ten days ago. Raina's uncle Ashok Kumar was living with his family in Pathankot district of Punjab. He was killed in a dacoit attack on the night of August 19 and early morning on August 20. Four members of Ashok Kumar's family were seriously injured in the incident. Initially, after seeing the body, the police said that Ashok Kumar had no relationship with Raina.

However, Shyam Lal, elder brother of the deceased, confirmed that Raina's uncle was Ashok. Shyam Lal further said that Raina will go to the village soon to meet his uncle's family. According to police, three or four members of the 'Kale Kachchewala' gang of robbers surrounded the house of Ashok Kumar, a government contractor in Tharial village near Madhopur in Pathankot, with the intention of looting. At that time, they attacked Ashok and his family members and Ashok was killed.

They were all sleeping on the roof of the house at the time of the attack. Ashok Kumar was hit in the head by robbers and died on the same night. Confirming the news of his death, Pathankot Senior Superintendent of Police Gulnit Singh Khurana said Raina had no connection with Raina. Ashok's 70-year-old mother Satya Devi, his wife Asha Devi, two sons Apin and Kaushal were seriously injured. Satya Devi has already been discharged from the hospital, while the rest are undergoing treatment. According to police, the robbers looted some cash and gold jewelery from the house.
