CNI Desk: Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed have both stressed that the killing of Major (Retd.) Sinha Md Rashed Khan will not create a rift between the two forces.

Gen Aziz Ahmed said, “The army and the police have always worked shoulder to shoulder. What happened is, of course, shocking to both the army and police. But we want to see it as an isolated incident.”

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed said, “Police and army have been working together in all crises, throughout the pandemic and in the flood situation now. I request to look at the death as an isolated incident. Some people are trying to make it a police vs army argument. Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Army are skilled forces. They will not give in to such provocations.”

The two chiefs made the remarks during a joint press conference at the Army Bungalow in Cox's Bazar on Wednesday.
