News Desk: The High Court has suspended the government decision to keep primary and secondary schools open during the month of Ramadan.

The High Court bench of Justice KM Kamrul Quader and Justice Khizir Hayat gave this order on Sunday. Earlier, it had announced to open secondary and lower secondary schools for the first 15 days of Ramadan and primary schools for the first 10 days. Government primary schools were instructed to hold classes from 9 am to 3.30 pm for the first 10 days of Ramadan. There will be a break from 1:15 to 1:30 for Zohar prayers. Incidentally, the holy month of Ramadan may start on March 11 or 12 depending on the sighting of the moon. At the beginning of the year, the annual holiday list was published with 30 days off for primary schools during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education decided to keep the first 10 days of fasting open by amending the list of holidays on February 9. Meanwhile, the office schedule of government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions has also been changed in the holy month of Ramadan. These offices will run from 9 am to 3:30 pm. And there will be a break for Zohar prayer from 1:30 to 1:30 p.m. On the other hand, the central bank has fixed the transaction time in the bank on the occasion of Ramadan month.

During the month of fasting, bank transactions can be made from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. As such, transactions in the bank will continue for five hours without interruption during Ramadan.
