News Desk:  Law Minister Anisul Haque said that new laws will be introduced in the National Parliament to prevent the creation of confusion by false information and fake news. Some laws will come to Parliament through the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The government will take measures to stop creating confusion with false information and fake news, not through control.

The Law Minister said this in response to a question from Jatiya Party Member of Parliament Ruhul Amin Howladar in the Jatiya Sangsad on Sunday.

The Law Minister answered questions on behalf of Information and Broadcasting Minister Muhammad Ali Arafat in his absence. Many online media outlets spread false news, create unrest, and spread misinformation. Law Minister Anisul Haque said in response to Ruhul Amin Howlader's question whether there will be a law to ban them, "Our constitution says that freedom of speech and freedom of the press are among the fundamental rights. It has to be legislated with due dignity. There is already one law, which is the Cyber Security Act.

Meanwhile, the law minister said, I want to inform the member of parliament that the Cyber Security Act and some other laws will come to this Parliament through the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The government will take measures to stop creating confusion through false information and fake news, not through regulation. However, the government will not curtail the freedom of the press in any way.
