International Desk: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and his party were in a bad mood even a few days before the parliamentary elections. This former cricketer was being sentenced in one case after another, fined as well. Independent candidates supported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have gained momentum in the election campaign. It was thought that the supporters of Imran Khan could get a handful of seats.

But that idea changed in the February 8 election. In the final result, the condition of 'eyes on the forehead', that is, the 'ideas' of political analysts remained just 'ideas'. The question is raised - Imran Khan's relationship with the military has improved, he will be released from prison, can Imran Khan become the prime minister? Legal experts and analysts say that the court can cancel Imran Khan's sentence.

Because the cases filed against this former prime minister are not strong. Rather, there are many irregularities. How much did Imran Khan gain by participating in the election? Before the elections, the scenario has changed even though it was in a state of disrepair and existence was in crisis. The final results showed PTI-backed independents winning the most seats. After winning many seats, Imran Khan's party is all set to go to the federal and provincial assemblies.

In the Punjab province of the country, the independent candidates of PTI are in the second place. And in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, they won two-thirds of the seats and got a majority. Dozens of candidates for Pakistan's provincial and national assemblies (backed by Tehreek-e-Insaf) challenged their defeat at the Election Commission. Tehreek-e-Insaf demands that there should be a transparent investigation into the allegations raised by them. Then the situation will be more favorable for Tehreek-e-Insaf. However, PTI leaders have to face various questions.

Among them, how to prove their majority in the federal and provincial assemblies, how to form the government, how to protect their independent candidates from other political parties? The big question before jailed Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan is how he can benefit from the public support his candidates have received in the elections, and how much. Free and Fair Elections Network. The organization works to strengthen democracy in Pakistan. According to their preliminary analysis, independent candidates supported by Tehreek-e-Insaf got more than 1.68 million votes from across the country in this election.

Can this public support influence the ruling party to change its current thinking and policy regarding Imran Khan? Imran Khan will be released from prison? Most legal experts believe that there is no possibility of Imran Khan's release from prison very soon. Hafiz Ahsan Khokhar is one of them. This legal expert thinks that Imran Khan will have to continue his legal battle to be released. The court has sentenced him in various cases.

To suspend or cancel these sentences, you have to go to court. Majority in elections may give them political advantage, but not much use in court. According to Hafiz Ahsan Khokhar, Imran Khan will have to face many complications in getting released in the court. Because he has 'admitted guilt' in many cases. For example - Cipher case, Toshakhana or asset related case. Lawyer Hafiz Ahsan Khokhar said that there is little chance of getting legal concessions in reducing the sentence of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Because his party is not forming the government at the central level.

According to political analysts, the presence of candidates supported by Imran Khan in the federal and provincial assemblies means that there will be various voices for Imran Khan in these two places. There will also be differences of opinion about the cases in which Imran Khan was convicted and the process by which he was sentenced. What is the way to cancel Imran Khan's sentence? A Lahore-based constitutional law expert and a lawyer believe there are two ways to overturn Imran Khan's sentence and release him from prison. He said on condition of anonymity, first of all.

Imran Khan should become the Prime Minister by forming the government. After talking to the president, his sentence can be canceled or reduced. In this way he may be able to come out. But it cannot be said that he has been acquitted. Because in this way he is not getting acquitted by following the legal process. Secondly. If the government is formed, the institutions that have filed a case against him can withdraw their case.

He will be able to come out. We have seen this kind of incident happen several times before with political leaders. Asad Jamal is a lawyer and legal expert. He thinks it could be a method. But according to him, even if the case is not dropped, the former prime minister will have more options. He said, they can appeal against the sentence. The basis of the cases filed against him is not very strong. Rather, there are many irregularities.

Therefore, the court can immediately suspend or cancel the sentence. But these alternative ways will be possible only when PTI forms the government. Although Nawaz Sharif-led Pakistan Muslim League-PML-N and Bilawal Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party (PPP) have decided to unite to form the government, that is no longer possible. "There is a way, but..." Journalist and analyst Salman Ghani thinks that the jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan could have been released from jail even in the current situation. But with some of his recent comments from jail, it doesn't look like that will be possible.

Salman Ghani said that a conversation was being heard between the central government of Pakistan in the last few hours. That is, the major parties should form the government together. But now they are claiming, that may not happen. Because the military has no guarantee that 'Imran Khan will not come out of jail and ruin everything again.' Salman Ghani thinks- Imran Khan recently said from jail that he will not join any major political party, because of which it seems that he does not really want to do compromise politics. Hence, Imran Khan does not seem to benefit personally from the recent mandates.

Can Imran Khan be the Prime Minister? Lawyer and legal expert Hafiz Ahsan Khokhar believes that it is not possible for Imran Khan to become the Prime Minister. According to them, even if Imran Khan gets out of jail on bail or his sentence is suspended, he is still a convicted convict. This legal expert said, Imran Khan is not a member of Majlis-e-Shura and cannot be. Because he has been sentenced for a long time in two cases.

An accountability court has also sentenced him. As a result, he lost his eligibility to contest elections or hold any public office. Hafiz Ahsan Khokhar said he will be disqualified for at least five years and in addition he has been declared a convicted felon. A Lahore-based constitutional expert, speaking on condition of anonymity, said he also agreed with Hafiz Ahsan Khokha. According to him, according to Article 63 of the Constitution, if the sentence is more than three years, then Imran Khan will be disqualified for five years from the completion of his sentence. That means - the day his sentence ends, the period of ineligibility will also start from then.

But lawyer Asad Jamal, however, thinks that Imran Khan can become the prime minister. According to him, if Imran Khan's sentence is canceled by forming the government, the time limit of disqualification will also be canceled. Then he can participate in the election and become the Prime Minister. But that doesn't seem to be the case in reality. Is Imran Khan's relationship with the army good?

After PTI supporters won a number of seats in the elections, it seems that its relationship with the country's military might be a bit better than before. Journalist and analyst Salman Ghani feels that this is the biggest opportunity for Imran Khan himself, his party and party workers who are in trouble to use this mandate to improve the situation. But Imran Khan still seems to believe in practicing hateful politics and the military also seems to be in no mood to negotiate with him.

Lawyer Asad Jamal said that it is very difficult to have a good relationship. According to him, Imran Khan's recent statements seem to suggest that his supported candidates have won because of hatred and anti-political practices. As they stand now, it seems they will not benefit from the politics of compromise, nor do they need it.

They think that they can achieve their political success in the future only by engaging in hateful politics. According to Asad Jamal - Imran Khan understands that hateful politics may not benefit him at the moment, but in the long run i.e. after a year or six months he may benefit.
