Cox's Bazar Correspondent: BGB Director General Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan, BAM, NDC, PSC visited Bangladesh-Myanmar border. He visited Baishfandi BOP and Tumbru and Ghumdhum border areas of Naikxyongchari Upazila of Teknaf Battalion (2BGB) under Ramu Sector in Cox's Bazar from morning to afternoon on Monday, November 20.
Apart from regular operational, training and administrative activities inspection, this program of the BGB Director General to monitor the border situation arising from the ongoing conflict in Myanmar has been confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the BGB Headquarters Md. In a press release of Border Guard Bangladesh, he mentioned, "During the inspection, the Director General of BGB inquired about all levels of BGB members on duty at the border. At this time, he directed everyone to perform their duties with the utmost professionalism at the border and to be extremely vigilant about any kind of illegal intrusion. During this time he directed the successful implementation of zero tolerance policy against drugs.
He also instructed to be always ready to deal with any law and order situation centered on the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections. During the inspection, BGB Director General along with senior officials of BGB Headquarters, Cox's Bazar Region Commander, Ramu Sector Commander and other BGB officers including the captains of the respective battalions were present, the public relations officer said.
