Didar said that the medical board held a meeting to review Khaleda Zia's latest physical condition at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. According to the decision of the medical board in that meeting madam was shifted to CCU.
78-year-old Khaleda Zia is suffering from various physical complications besides heart problems and liver cirrhosis. He has had many complications including arthritis, diabetes, dental and eye problems for many years. After getting out of prison, he was admitted to the hospital several times for treatment. When Khaleda Zia's angiogram was done in June last year, three blocks were found in her heart. A ring is worn on one of them.
Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital again due to physical illness on August 9. Since then he is under treatment in the hospital.
Khaleda Zia was taken to prison on February 8, 2018 after being sentenced in a corruption case. In March 2020, the government suspended Khaleda Zia's sentence for six months, subject to the family's plea following the country's coronavirus outbreak. Since then he lives in a rented house in Gulshan. The government is extending his release period every six months.
