News desk: The terrible fire in the new raw market of the capital's Mohammadpur agricultural market was finally brought under control in 6 hours. But the market is still covered in smoke. 17 units of the fire service worked to control the fire that broke out in the early hours of Thursday (September 14). Volunteer members of Police, RAB, BGB, Army-Navy-Air Force, NSI and Scout worked at the spot for fire control, rescue operation and general order. Water is sprinkled from above the market by air force helicopters. Even after 9 o'clock in the morning on the ground, the entire area was seen covered in smoke. Apart from this, small fires were also seen burning inside various shops. According to the fire service, there is no fire now, but smoke is rising from the combustible materials of various shops. Fire service personnel wearing oxygen masks are working at the scene.
An employee of the fire service said that due to the smoke, the fire had to be brought under control. At times various flammable materials including oil containers of various shops exploded and caught fire. As a result, we went back several times, went back and worked to control the fire. At 3:43 in the morning, the fire service received information about the fire at Mohammadpur Krishi Market. Seven units were sent to the spot after receiving the information. The first unit arrived at the scene at 3:52 am. Later, the unit increased step by step and 17 units of the fire service joined the fire control. A total of 137 members of the fire service worked at the scene of the fire. However, no casualty has been reported so far.
