Health Desk:  The number of people suffering from diabetes is increasing day by day worldwide. The problem of high blood sugar level is called diabetes. If diabetes increases or is not controlled, it affects all the important organs of the body.

According to a US study conducted by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, diabetes causes severe eye damage. Which can sometimes lead to blindness from blurred vision.

According to experts, diabetes causes diabetic retinopathy in the eyes. If Diabetic Retinopathy is not detected and treated in time, the diabetic patient can be in serious danger. For this, regular eye screening must be done.

Dr. Sharp Sight Eye Hospital Senior Retina Consultant in this regard. Siddharth Sain said that often blurred vision or blurred vision can be a symptom of diabetes.

Gradually this problem started increasing. When blood glucose levels rise, the lens of the eye, like many other tissues in the body, draws in large amounts of fluid. which impairs the ability to focus.

He also said that diabetes can cause new blood vessels to form in our retina. If the new blood vessels interfere with the normal flow of fluid out of the eye, pressure can build up in the eyeball.

As a result, glaucoma causes damage to the optic nerve. Because too much sugar in the blood causes the small blood vessels to become blocked and the retina stops its blood supply.

More serious symptoms of diabetes occur

.Seeing black spots floating in front of the eyes or
. In the dark, any color floats to the eyes, etc.

If such changes persist without treatment, the patient is at increased risk of permanent blindness. So diabetic patients should have regular eye examination.
