Magura Correspondent: At 10.30 am on Tuesday, there was a terrorist attack on journalist SM Shimul Rana (28) and his mother Samchunnahar (50), brother Md. Sajib (19) and sister Reshma Begum (38) at Chandpur village of Chaulia Union of Magura Sadar Upazila. It is known that journalist SM Shimul Rana, a member of Magura Reporters Unity, and his mother and siblings went to visit his grandmother at their ancestral home in Chandpur. There was a previous dispute with his mother over the newspaper land of his maternal uncle. Based on this, his uncle Shahadat Biswas and two Sons Miraj Biswas and Riaz Biswas and their gang of terrorists Munnaf Biswas and Rajek Biswas ganged up on them with indigenous weapons to kill them.

Journalist Shimul Rana said that when he attacked them with weapons, he went to resist them with his bare hands, when the terrorists started to attack him in a group, his mother ran to protect him and she was also seriously injured by weapons. When journalist Shimul Rana's mother fell on the ground in a bloody state, the terrorist forces fled from the place, thinking she was dead. Later, when the National Emergency Service called Triple Nine, the Magura Sadar Thana police arrived there and rescued them and sent them to the Magura 250-bed hospital for treatment.

In the attack, journalist SM Shimul Rana's mother's left leg was broken into three pieces and her head was split open by the sharp weapon and six stitches were required. She is now undergoing treatment in the hospital in a critical condition. When contacted, Sekander Ali, officer-in-charge of Magura Sadar police station, told reporters. He said that after receiving the call to the National Emergency Service Triple Nine, the policemen along with the responsible officers immediately went and rescued them and sent them to the hospital for treatment.

Journalist Shimul Rana said that he could not go to the police station for treatment. The Magura Reporters Unity has strongly condemned this and strongly demanded that the culprits be brought to justice as soon as possible.
